It does come as a shock because this particular series of Y-500 has been known to have a chunky but short structure. But we don’t really mind having a new spin on a classic.

This chunk of sass is exceptional not just because of the design, but also for its colour palette. We were not expecting a brand new Yeezy 500 to hit the tracks with a colourway like this Core Black. The bulbous structure stays the same as all other Yeezy 500s, but the mesh windows take the backseat for obsidian blue neoprene layers. Pitch black hits the luxe leather and suede overlays that pose as the foot-cage for this shoe. The backfoot is slightly arched and rises up to show off the high-neck attitude. As usual, the adiPRENE midsole sits underfoot but with snowy white colour to contrast.
