We are deeply saddened to learn that Off-White and Louis Vuitton’s Very Own Virgil Abloh is No More. The shocking news of Virgil Abloh’s death caught the world off-guard today. He was the current menswear artistic director at Louis Vuitton and the founder of his own fashion label Off-White. The 41-year-old had been privately suffering from cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare, aggressive form of cancer, according to an announcement post on his official Instagram account.

Off-White and Louis Vuitton’s Very Own Virgil Abloh is No More. For two years, Abloh battled with death, and the world has lost a true gem today. He was a creative, influential and optimistic individual, inspiring thousands with his devotion and work ethic. Abloh often said all that he did was for the younger version of himself. And he devoted himself to creating pathways for others.

Kanye West, Pharrell, BTS, Gigi Hadid and many other celebs who were close to the renowned fashion designer mourn the death of Virgil Abloh. Kanye West posted a flash page to his website, dondalive.com. It read, “In Loving Memory Of Virgil Abloh, The Creative Director Of Donda”. BTS were in the middle of their 4-day concert when the news of Ablosh’s passing came out, and they expressed their sadness through a tweet.

The famous designer may have transformed the fashion world with his unique ideas and creativity. However, he also completely changed the meaning of the term “fashion” itself. Virgil transformed the fashion designer stereotype by adding artist, DJ, and furniture designer to his creative arsenal.

The Hadid sisters, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, each took to their social media to pay tribute to the fashion designer Virgil Abloh who died at such a young age battling cancer for two years. Gigi said she pictures her late friend to be “forever with us”. She described him as one of a kind and said his generosity left a mark on every life he touched. Bella also shared a series of pictures of herself with the late fashion powerhouse, saying she’s “at a loss” and that “he was someone to everyone”.

Abloh had the magic power of making every person that came close to him feel special and valued. Throughout his short life, he also achieved many milestones. He trained as an architect and later started designing clothes in 2012. His design debut was a screenprint on a Ralph Lauren rugby shirt that set the tone for his future work. In addition, he also worked with Nike, Ikea, Perrier and Mercedes-Benz, taking fashion into places where it never went before!

Despite the hardships and criticism, Abloh still managed to shine through his innovative and unique skills. Also, Virgil Abloh was even involved in the music industry, taking his designs to the cover of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaborative album. Hence, throughout his entire life, he made a difference in the world with his presence and will always be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
