Nike Air Huarache Black Blue Iridescent FD0656-001

The Nike Air Huarache, which celebrated its 30th anniversary just a few years ago, has been enjoying steady releases thanks to the retooled Huarache Craft proposition. In anticipation of the unpredictable winter weather, a trio of textiles is set to land on the silhouette inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s water skiing trip. The upper part of this shoe is a deep black, save for the reflective blue tongue insignia. There is also a perforated leather panel that stands out from the rest of the shoe. The bottom portion of this Nike Air Huarache Black Blue Silver comes in an all-black mesh construct with pale blue and black accents scattered about.

To add even more detail to this already cool-looking pair, black lace holders cover each eyelet on the inside of each shoe. Tumbled leather overlays envelop the one-piece sock construction made of colour-matched neoprene, and the vamp uses ballistic mesh in the forefoot. An embroidered Swoosh on dark shadow grey fabric appears on the cracked leather mudguard. The rest of the pitch-black shoe also has a semi-translucent heel counter and cushioning unit underfoot in dark shadow grey. The tongue tab extends, and a cyan-blue colour covers the "Nike International" logo on the insoles.

This look harkens back to the original 1991 design by Tinker Hatfield, but it also features a few modern updates. The bootie is fully constructed from neoprene and has perforated textile accents on top of the water skiing-inspired "cracked leather" mudguard. The Air Huarache was first released in 1991 with a neoprene sockliner that extended to fit around the ankle. The newest take on this classic sneaker utilizes a full mesh upper for added breathability instead of its traditional mesh/neoprene combination.
