Sacai Nike Cortez White 4.0

Despite being one of Nike's longest-standing partners, sacai only rose in prominence following the release of their LDWaffle in 2019. Designer Chitose Abe has also carried out her relationships in a similar way, refashioning classics with elements from other styles. However, the upcoming Sacai Nike Cortez White 4.0 takes a step outside the box, as it is somewhat more grounded than prior designs by Abe. The Cortez 4.0 keeps the basic silhouette of the original but adds some modern elements. The upper is made of a single piece of leather, with perforations for breathability. The tongue and heel are both padded for comfort, and the laces are hidden beneath a leather overlay. The sole is thick and lumpy, with a herringbone pattern for traction.

The Cortez 4.0 is a unique take on a classic design, and it is sure to turn heads when it is released. The Cortez 4.0 by sacai has been outfitted in "White," "Varsity Red," and "Varsity Royal" as a homage to the original colourway of the base model. In terms of design, the shoe's outside mirrors that of the OG, using leather throughout the profile and suede across the toe cap and eye stays. The counter, sole unit, and top-line are all adorned with the sacai label's signature touch: a counter is made up of many layers, the bottom is similar to previous collaborations, and the ankle is cushioned further with the inclusion of a second blue-dominant collar. After months of waiting, Nike and sacai have finally revealed a release date for the Cortez 4.0 collaboration.
