Gone but not forgotten, Virgil Abloh’s influence on footwear, fashion, and society is still felt today. Reporting straight from the sneaker town, A$AP Bari has shared a close look at another unreleased OFF-WHITE x Nike sample, this time the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Sheed” in black and white patent leather. Here’s us providing the first look at the Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Sheed” by Off-White; read on to know full details about the pair.

Behind the kicks

Before his tragic death in November 2021, Virgil Abloh left a bevvy of his creative ventures with the Nike shoes behind.  Among the numerous works on display at the Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture exhibition, a pair that seemed to catch the attention of the sneakerheads a tab bit too much in Miami during Art Basel was the pair that was modelled by the notorious Air Force 1 High “Sheed” PE from way back in 2001.

Rasheed Wallace’s role in the Detroit Pistons’ first championship since 1990 led Nike to introduce the Air Force 1 High Sheep “Rude Awakening” in 2018 as part of their Champions Think 16 collection. Now, in 2023, the kicks are coming back by taking inspiration from the 2001 silhouette.

Digging into the deets

To start off the deets, Rasheed Wallace’s renowned fadeaway jumper silhouette logo is embroidered on the lateral heel of this Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid. At the same time, “RASHEED” is printed on the medial side beneath the brand’s trademark typography. The shoe’s upper is made of black patent leather, and the “30” in his jersey number on the ankle strap is another nod to the Air Force 1 “Sheed” PE. Lastly, the design is finished with a Black spiky rubber outsole, White Swooshes, and a midsole. Additional laces and “Off-White” tags in special packaging are also included with the sneaker.

The first look at the Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Sheed” by Off-White ends here. Although no specific release dates have been announced, it appears likely that release news will come shortly. Till then, why don’t you check out the Billie Eilish x Nike Air Force 1 Low White? For the most recent news and releases, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter handles.
