The iconic Converse trainers have been around since 1908 and decades of history to fall back on, and in that time hundreds of different versions have been created. The design of the Chuck Taylor All-Star has remained mostly unchanged since its introduction. The shoes consist of a stitched upper portion, a toe cap usually made of white rubber, and a sole that is usually made of brown rubber. Marquis Mills Converse created the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts. The brand has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. since 2003. Resulting in more global recognition on the back of Nike's expertise in the worldwide market.

The Converse All Star is designed for mainly casual wear. It has become somewhat of a global phenomenon in the years since its initial release in 1917. As such, the retained design coupled with modern advancements in footwear technology, has kept it relevant to this day, a century later. Not many products in the world can claim to have that level of longevity while staying relevant in some way or the other. This remarkable feat, along with several others, has made Converse a universally admired brand of trainers that have transcended both the sports and fashion industry. Nevermind the apparent cultural impact such an iconic line commands; it is quite outstanding in hindsight.

How can you tell if Converse All Stars are fake?

With the popularity of Converse trainers all over the world, fakes are an inevitable outcome. To check for fakes, you can check if there's a logo on the side to make sure they're real. If they're low tops, this can be a strong indication that they're fake. Check the logo on the back of the shoe/the logo on the inside. Besides that, avoid buying untrustworthy sellers, sticking to official channels helps infinitely.

Is Converse a good brand?

The history of Converse is undeniable and vast. With a legacy spanning an entire century, it's nothing to scoff at. Despite its failings at times with the brand coming close to bankruptcy, it has rebounded spectacularly in the last few years. With Nike overlooking the brand, it has the financial stability access assurance. The trainers that Converse produces are quite varied with its long history. But the affordable price along with the years of use each pair gets, it is an excellent value.

As a brand that relies on its classics to survive in the current volatile climate of sneakers, Converse is going pretty strong. With a loyal customer base along with the trust that people bestow upon a brand of Converse's stature, the Converse All Star is an all-time icon that will live on through the years to come. With more and more colourways and collaborations adorning the Converse All Star, we'll see a lot more of this fabled classic.
