New Balance 990v2 Comes Dressed Up In “Sea Salt”

New Balance and their 99X series have seen a massive resurgence, and now New Balance 990v2 Comes Dressed Up In “Sea Salt”. Outstanding footwear designer Teddy Santis makes an impressive line-up of sneakers. So, the upcoming New Balance is taking the lead in its Made in USA division. The Aimé Leon Dore creator has a few covetable colourways on our radar. Including the New Balance 990v2 Made in USA “Sea Salt”. There’s no denying that New Balance is the most famous footwear brand today. So, let’s see a closer look at this upcoming design!

So, thanks in part to ALD founder Teddy Santis. The new Creative Director of the upcoming New Balance’s Made In USA line gave sneakerheads a sneak peek. At what he had in store for us back in February. Now the collection is coming to life. However, the silhouette  already gives the “Marblehead” treatment. The New Balance 990v3 Made In the USA By Teddy Santis spots in “Sea Salt.”

As with the 990v3 “Sea Salt,” the silhouette takes on a combo of breathable mesh and premium leather across the upper. Most of the leather overlays come in stark white. Contrast the grey caught on the toe. The midfoot “N” logo and the heel tab. The mudguard and top-most eyestay happening into an off white tone. So, contrasting well against the cream laces and 990 impressed tongues. Internally, the sockliner and insole match two-tone cream and white as the rest of the upper. On the white heel overlay, NB company alongside “Made In USA” text appears on a grey window. So, rounding out the look is an aged cream Abzorb midsole paired with a grey rubber outsole.

So, it only took a few matches of footwear collaborations with Aimé Leon Dore for New Balance. Quickly realized that Teddy Santis’ strategy language strongly echoes. The brand values its fashion sensibilities and innovation perspective with sneaker civilization fanatics. As a result, got him on as a creative head back in April 2021. So, his first Produce in the USA collection is slowly distribute one year later. The next release on his plan is the New Balance 990v2 Made In USA “Sea Salt” colourway.

So, this most recent iteration leans on a collection of brighter neutrals. Mesh underlays and soft leather overlays match with angelic finishes. The smaller hints of grey are spread to the toe box overlays, N logos, and the heels. USA text merge into the oval-shaped heel windows. The traditional 990 brandings are spread down on the tongues. In addition, cream inflexions don the laces, tongues, and semi-chunky midsole units for extra vintage flair. So, Teddy Santis and New Balance are on a roll as debuting their first partnership in April 2019. And while the Queens-native took a mini-break from going out footwear through his Aimé Leon Dore label, He hasn’t quit bringing “cool” to the Boston-based brand’s catalogue.
