This is the next step for a clean and environment-friendly sneaker campaign because there will be no pieces left to throw out. Here you can see the Nike Atsuma pair lying with spare parts and cut-offs. The designers used and utilised the pieces to the maximum indeed! In Japanese Kanji, “Atsuma” means “kindness” or “genuine”. If you stop wasting materials, then you sure are showing kindness to nature! Similarly, the cut and sew aesthetic of contemporary style gets a brand new dimension this way. First of all, you will notice that both the Nike Swoosh logo’s cut-out piece and the offcuts get a place on this Nike Atsuma. The medial wall has a sea-blue Swoosh, and the cut-out panel graces the lateral side! All the other bright and flashy leather panels match like pieces of a puzzle. In fact, the rubber hang-tag sings in unison as well. It’s just another spare part from the outsole that would have been thrown away. But Atsuma decided to recycle and use it. Hot orange and electric blue colour-pops jump out of black nylon underlays and ivory upper layer. Finally, a white foam midsole, snug sockliner (recycled), and black atsuma branding finish the look.
