When confronted with cancer, he decided to build, to leave a resounding impact on the world of trainers and fashion. And though incapable to flounder in it, praise is what has satisfied the Off-White founder’s post-humous work — particularly the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1. In estimate to our sources, the LV AF1 was initially presumed to drop at the end of 2021. But, out of regard for Abloh and his family, it has been postponed until the dawn of 2022. And now it is 2022!

If it weren’t for Abloh, assumingly, this collab would have never ensued at all. He actually worked as a go-between, bridging the difference through similarly iconic motifs of the two brands. On top of that, the shoes are up for auction at Sotheby’s; this is debatably the clearest, as the classic silo takes on fabrication and layout similar to the atelier’s monogram handbags. The theme supported this link, rife with rich, deep browns and modest, grand natural accents.

Apart from its high proposal price, even this shoe pales in contrast to the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1’s F&F colourways. And all eight of which are visible in the hands of the culture’s best. Apart from their distinction in hue, the colourways offer a similar fabrication. Along with the LV monogram subtly embedded all over the upper and Swoosh. The Off-White elements are also in tow. In contrast, the most prominent are the off-centre tongue tag, bright green tabs, and the cited “AIR” text across the midsole and laces.

Within the big names, it’s called “The List”, an assumed log of creators, musicians and actors. All others alike who have acquired a pair of the positively sought after “Friends & Family”. The “Friends & Family” Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection comprises eight colourways. Black, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Yellow, Royal Blue/Navy and University Blue. Each takes a solid-coloured upper embedded with monogram imprint, deviating white Swooshes and linings, Off-White-style labelling, and the classic sole design with Virgil’s renowned AIR marking. Pairs are visual in select Louis Vuitton x Nike research packages and shielded by custom dust packs.
