Moreover, according to OBJ, the company has swindled the NFL free-agent wide receiver out of millions of dollars. Besides, they also claim that Swoosh has been suppressing sneakers sales that would have otherwise led to a contract extension.

On the other hand, TMZ Sports also got its hands on the OBJ’s attorney Daniel Davillie’s lawsuit. It is this lawsuit that notes the claims against the Swoosh. Further news includes OBJ demanding to shift to adidas since his original deal with Nike expired in 2017. However, Nike wanted to retain a talent that was valuable to the company. In addition, they wanted to avoid matching the terms and cost of adidas’ deal.

Now, OBJ claims that the fine print made it impossible for him to extend his deal. In March 2022, their relationship was facing turmoil since he was due around USD 2.6 million. Conversely, OBJ now says Swoosh has withheld more than USD 2 million. Later, he got to know Nike’s actions were due to his commitment to glove and footwear violations when he altered his equipment towards the end of the last season. However, OBJ denies all of it. According to him, Nike did not give him cleats that matched his new team, leading him to find his customizations. In conclusion, OBJ alleges that Nike has cheated him out of USD 20 million.
