Nike had already started planning for the 40th anniversary of Air Force 1 well before 2022. They released a few colourways and collaborative offerings early on and have been adding new models as the occasion gets closer. The most recent model, the Nike Air Force 1 High White, which Nike announced today, is reminiscent of their Fontanka model.

The Nike Air Force 1 'Fontanka' takes its name and inspiration from a canal in St. Petersburg, Russia. The canal is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions, and it's also where Nike usually films their European Air Force 1 commercials. The fontanka model features a white leather upper with blue suede overlays.

The Nudie Duds have a similar construct as the Fontanka. However, it leans more toward the original form. React cushioning is completely removed and replaced with a regular, vintage-coloured sole unit from the heel onwards. In addition, the outsole lacks the split design — instead of making one entire piece —, and the stitching is far more uniform. The Air Max 90 resembles the Air Force 1's low and high-top trims if you look at it outside of the lens of comparison. The latter, despite being superior, influences the general form somewhat; nevertheless, you can still detect a faint afterimage of its shorter sibling in its second heel tab. This is particularly evident in the second heel tab, whose lower position corresponds to the perforations across the profile.
