The well-known streets of New Orleans will be getting a little more hype thanks to Nike’s latest release of the Nike Air Force 1 Low Nola. This new colourway is inspired by Houston, and it’s rumoured to be part of an extensive City Pack that Nike has done in the past. With this shoe, Nike celebrates all things Louisiana with some obvious references. The sneaker has a quartet of colours, with each one paying homage to the wide range of cultures that reside in the city. For instance, the white and green combo references Mardi Gras. The purple and gold signify the Saints, who recently won the Super Bowl this year. Finally, the red accent is for the Cajuns who reside in la Louisiana.
The heel of this shoe has “NOLA” written across it in gold lettering, with the “L” replaced by the shape of Louisiana. The city’s area code, “504,” is also written on the shoe in gold letters. There are additional gold details on the eyelets and heel tab, as well as along the border of the Swoosh. The lateral side of the Swoosh has silver glitter for a bit of extra sparkle. The Air Force 1 Low is constructed with a white leather upper, while the sole unit combines white and gum rubber.
