"I approach design from a very personal perspective," Abloh explains. "It's always about how can I communicate my ideas in the most effective way." He goes on to discuss how he draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including music, architecture, and art. "I'm trying to find new ways of communicating ideas that are maybe a little bit more abstract," he says.
To pay tribute to Abloh's legacy, The Shoe Surgeon Legacy Air Jordan 1 Low Virgil Abloh is a two-piece collection that is inspired by the Damier and Monogram Louis Vuitton x Air Force 1. The Air Jordan 1 High in the capsule is a much closer replica of the original colourway than before. Authentic LV luggage was used to construct the silhouette, which features the distinctive monogram-patterned leather across its whole profile while also showcasing both notable logo hits and a beautiful brown finish. The black and white are completed with a sturdy canvas for the toe, collar, and Swoosh. The Air Jordan 1 Low provides comparable quality to the AJ1 High, but it reverses the colourway. Damier canvas takes up a significantly bigger role than its darker counterpart, which includes only the toe, heel tab, and Swoosh.
