Nike Air Max 97 Atmosphere Grey is a massive throwback to Nintendo 64 with a stunning colour palette! This classic runner is going all out with hints to show a tribute to the 1996 game console. The Japanese gaming company, Nintendo released its third version in 1996 to compete with PlayStation and other gaming devices and got popular overnight. N64 was the first game console with 3D graphics! It also had a 64-bit RISC Central processing unit. People with some technical knowledge will get the reference. The high-tech version stole the show almost overnight. This week, the Nike classics are dropping a shoe to show gratitude to another classic.

Only the true sneaker followers will connect the dots and remember that N64 came out the same time when Air Max 97 made its first debut! Both of these releases were the game-changers for their respective departments. Now, after two decades, Nike decides to join and add modern features as well. Follow @FastSoleUK for more details.

Nintendo aesthetics are seeping all out from this old-school chunky beast! The wavy design is an advantage to flaunt the cheerful colours and clues about the game. Vivid shades of red, green, blue, and yellow pop up from the upper as a shout out for Nintendo’s “N” 3D logo. The base colour for this Air Max 97 is light grey. It’s the hint for N64’s game controller which was grey as well. The grey leather mudguard shows off the play button graphic all over, and the tongue tabs say “Power” and “Reset” as nods to the controller buttons.

The waves on the sidewall are luxe blue and green while the Swoosh and the tongue-ribbon are red. As a result, the moody grey upper becomes party-ready instantly! You can see three black dots on the pull-tag as a reference to the controller port. Finally, a pitch-black Air midsole sits underfoot with wild orange Air-Sole unit.

Nike Air Max 97 Atmosphere Grey release 31st October via listed UK and European retailers.
