Since 2005, Welcome Skateboarding has been a hub for skating culture and community in Madrid. Despite collaborating with numerous partners over the years, this 18-year-old institution is now making its mark with an official Nike SB collaboration! Say hello to the new Welcome Skateshop Madrid x Nike SB Blazer High White!

Revolutionizing Madrid’s Skate Scene

This Madrid-based shop is joining the ranks of skate crews like Crenshaw Skate Club, April Skateboards, and Doyenne Skateboards, all of whom are getting their very first Nike SB collab in 2023! Back in the 2000s, when local policies banned skating in popular spots like Plaza Colon, Welcome kept the spirit alive, and in their upcoming release, instead of traditional branding, they’ve embraced “Casa Welcome,” an open invitation to both longtime fans and newcomers.

The tongue label says it all, “All Welcome Here.” Even the sockliners showcase artwork by Marta Baztan, depicting a diverse group of people and lots of food, symbolizing the welcoming spirit of the shop!

The sail leather upper combines a clean canvas with a unique pre-distressed look on the toe, while dark beetroot outlines the panels for that added edge. Stand out with houndstooth patterns on the laces and lining, and pay homage to the Spanish roots of Welcome Skateboarding with their logo on the tongues and “Casa Welcome Madrid” on the heel and lastly, these kicks sit atop a classic white vulcanized rubber sole, offering both style and durability to cap off the look.

How Does The Welcome Skateshop Madrid x Nike SB Blazer High White Fit?

When it comes to Nike Blazers, the key to the perfect fit is all about knowing your foot type. If you have narrow feet, sticking with your true size is the way to go – they might feel a bit snug initially, but these sneakers stretch and adapt with time, offering that ideal fit you’re after. For those with wider feet, simply going half a size up will provide the extra room your toes need to feel comfortable.

The Styling Part

When it comes to styling these kicks, ditch the baggy and oversized options in favour of a sleek, rebellious look and complete the ensemble with oversized sunglasses for added flair. In the wintertime, embrace the trend of leather – slip into narrow-leg leather trousers, team them with your Blazers for a sophisticated day-to-night look, and elevate your style with some gold accessories.
