The lifestyle silhouette appears wearing a grey colour scheme. A cool grey colour that complements New Balance's history is applied to the breathable mesh, synthetic strips, and plastic clips encircle the heel. A hint of "speed" is added to the retro-inspired design by branding hits that vary at the midfoot and midsole in ruby-coloured flair.

The two-tone colour design of the upper is carried out underneath by the NB 860v2's sole unit, which is also found on the fan-favourite New Balance 2002R. The crimson finish on the traction zones beneath the forefoot also helps boost the look of the sneaks.
