Celebrations at the Swoosh-dom never end, and sneakerheads are all about it because this means one thing; they can expect some killer silos from the brand! This year, Nike is giving tributes to 50 Years of Hip-Hop with some limited edition releases. Meet one of them, the Nike KD 15 50 Years Of Hip Hop.

A little recap of the hip-hop past: Hip-hop was created back in August 1973. While playing music at his sister’s graduation celebration in the Bronx, DJ Kool Herc first formally created the genre. Herc would splice spoken words into the songs, which would eventually evolve into what is now known as rap.

Clad in neutral hues, the upcoming release features “Black,” “Smoke Grey,” and “Beach” colours to make up its palate. These kicks ooze the bold rap swag with features like tongue labels that say “50 Years of Hip-Hop,” leather heel pull tabs embellished with “Easy Money” braiding, and insoles imprinted with the same branding. Lastly, the golden metallic microphone hangtag adds the finishing deet to this hip-hop-themed silo.

So, lace’m up to unleash your inner rap guru. Allow these shoes to serve as your poetic muse while you stroll to the beat of the streets!
