The joining with Roland re-defined the line. The Japanese manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, Roland, teamed up with Puma to pay nods to the electric-drum, Roland TR-808 with the same colours. The premium leather-suede-nylon combination was the best feature on top of its unique construction. The leather layer on the forefoot and the heel have white and red colours. Bright yellow suede overlays and orange suede Formstrip lay on top of black ripstop nylon underlays. A silver leather forefoot patch and rear collar contrast further. A white midsole has dual branding and a rubber outsole.
