Nike Dunk Low Scrap The Mighty Swooshers GS DX6058-101

NIKE, Inc., which has been producing athletic shoes for over six decades, has borrowed ideas from a wide range of sources throughout that time. The North American sportswear firm has tapped into galactic superheroes as part of its Nike Dunk Low Scrap The Mighty Swooshers GS collection to inspire its latest kids'-exclusive Nike Dunk Low Scrap. The shoe, which is released globally on September 3 in limited quantities, will feature a mix of materials, including denim, corduroy, and canvas. The design was created by LA-based artist Scrapdaddy, who is known for upcycling old materials into vibrant new works of art.

"When we started working with Scrapdaddy on this project, he showed us some of his previous work and we were really blown away," said Nike Footwear Designer Nate VanHook in a press release. The capsule has previously included pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Low, though the latest addition to the collection indulges in the lineup’s most experimental arrangement yet. The sneaker’s Scrap iteration boasts a number of haphazardly-shaped overlays across the upper, which features a mesh base that deviates from Peter Moore’s original 1985 design. The pair is finished with bright orange and yellow colour pattern, which is complemented by strong bursts of orange and yellow. The latter hue is applied to an inferno-like element on the profile swooshes, which looks like a digital display. On the “NIKE”-branded top heel panels, Digi-like panels can also be seen. Finally, each sneaker's sock-liner includes text that refers to "The Mighty Swooshers" and the newest edition in the collection: "The Battle of Dimension Six."
